Sepia Saturday 165: Unknown Family Picture - Sisters

Sure do wish I knew the identity of the family and or at lest the first names of some of the subjects.   The only thing I do know is that the family had the portrait done in Panora, Iowa at the J. B. Carpenter Photographers.

Sepia Saturday - High Style Fashion Hat, Julietta Hyman Wills

Julietta Hyman Wills
Sepia Saturday 164:  I decided to show off a picture of  a distant relative, Julietta, and her "lovely" and hopefully one of a kind hat.

Sepia Saturday Sepia Saturday 163 - Lorraine and the Snow Man

Lorraine (Skibbe) Clark  1938, Chicago, Illinois
This is a picture of my mother at age 4 outside her family home in Chicago, Illinois.  My mother spent her youth enjoying the snow including ice skating, skiing and playing in the snow.  Perhaps that is why she lives where it doesn't snow.

Mappy Monday: 1891 Fayette County Illinois Plat Map

I came across this copy of a 1891 Plat Map of Avena, Fayette, Illinois.  I thought it would be interesting to highlight all the landowners with names in my family - here is the result:
Alden, Ogle & Company. (1891). Plat book of Fayette County, Illinois. Chicago: Alden, Ogle.
So now I know why the Durbin's, Dial's, Clark's and Logue's intermarried. Looks like some in depth Fayette County research is necessary.
