Randy Seaver at Genea-Musing has issued this Saturday Night Challenge: 1)   Determine where your ancestral families were on 25 June 1866 - 150 years ago. 2)  List your ancestors, their family members, their birth and death years, and their residence location (as close as possible).  Do you have a photograph of their residence from about that time, and does the residence still exist? 3)  Tell us all about it in your own blog post, in a comment to this post, or in a Facebook Status or Google+ Stream post. Tonight's assignment - Make a timeline for an ancestor.  Please see Randy Seaver's blog at  http://www.geneamusings.com/2014/11/saturday-night-genealogy-fun-make.html  for information!  Thanks for the challenge Randy!  Here is my timeline for my third great grandfather John Nicholas Poundstone: I used RootsMagic to create my timeline.  I then saved the timeline and endnotes to a PDF and used the snipping tool to create a jpeg to upload to my blog.   I now see that I need to correct my endnote 27 - somehow the citation is incomplete.  Good thing Randy had us do the task, now I can correct poor Great Grandpa's citation!  Interesting to note the probate for John N Poundstone was settled about fifteen years after his death!    #SNGF

Saturday Night Genealogy Fun posted at Randy Seaver's blog Genea-Musings  asks "What Did Santa Bring You?" Here are my answers: 1) What gift that you received for Christmas is your favorite for genealogy purposes? Book, magazine, hardware, software, website subscription, research time, DNA test - what was it, and how will it affect your genealogy research?   Santa brought me a mtDNA Plus testing kit from Family Tree DNA.  I am looking forward to the results to see my ethnicity and finding new family information.  I  purchased for myself a YDNA37 test from Family Tree DNA for my father to submit using my Christmas gift money.  I am hoping that dad's DNA will help me track down additional relatives.  I also received two books - Tombstones of Your Ancestors by Louis Schafer and Walking With Your Ancestors by Melinda Kashuba.  So far both books have been a joy to read - just love learning new things! 2) Tell us about it in a blog post on your ow...
