Mom and Spooky, cir 1968 Ah, my beautiful mother - allergic to cats but never without one by her side.  She always would take in a stray - anything she could do to save a cat.  We once saved a sick cat in Stonington Illinois and drove it back to Chicago, with the cat having diarrhea the whole way home.  The car smelled so bad!  Mom got her to the vet and "Ralph" (actually Ralphette) lived a loved and happy life with us.

Tonight's assignment - Make a timeline for an ancestor.  Please see Randy Seaver's blog at  http://www.geneamusings.com/2014/11/saturday-night-genealogy-fun-make.html  for information!  Thanks for the challenge Randy!  Here is my timeline for my third great grandfather John Nicholas Poundstone: I used RootsMagic to create my timeline.  I then saved the timeline and endnotes to a PDF and used the snipping tool to create a jpeg to upload to my blog.   I now see that I need to correct my endnote 27 - somehow the citation is incomplete.  Good thing Randy had us do the task, now I can correct poor Great Grandpa's citation!  Interesting to note the probate for John N Poundstone was settled about fifteen years after his death!    #SNGF

The assignment: 1) How old is one of your grandfathers now, or how old would he be if he had lived? Divide this number by 4 and round the number off to a whole number. This is your "roulette number."   2) Use your pedigree charts or your family tree genealogy software program to find the person with that number in your ancestral name list (some people call it an "ahnentafel"). Who is that person? 3) Tell us three facts about that person in your ancestral name list with the "roulette number." 4) Write about it in a blog post on your own blog, in a Facebook note or comment, or as a comment on this blog post. 5) If you do not have a person's name for your "roulette number" then spin the wheel again - pick a grandmother, or yourself, a parent, a favorite aunt or cousin, or even your children! ...
