I am still preparing for my visit to Illinois and Indiana.  The list of resources I need to check just keeps growing.  I have already done a bunch of homework by visiting on line library listings finding the books I need to cross off my research list.  It looks like the courthouses and libraries in Indiana will be begging me to leave.  So far I will be in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana and in Carroll County, mainly at the Carroll County Historical Museum.  The Carroll County Historical Museum has collections from the Hyman and Poundstone families.  Luckily many family pictures have been uploaded to the museums digital collection and were accessible from home.  My research in Illinois will be greatly meeting with relatives and obtaining what information they may have.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting a few "new" cousins.  I am hoping that I can swing a drive to the northwest suburbs of Chicago to see some old classmates before heading back home to Arizona

This week's subjects is to describe the bedroom we had in our childhood.  The first bedroom I remember was at the house on Can Dota.   The room was pink and I had a chandelier light fixture.  I loved to watch the light play off the glass of the chandelier. The room I had for the majority of my childhood was at the Lincoln Street location.  My room had two different colors of green, a dark green accent wall and three lighter green walls.  I had a white wicker half canopy, night table and headboard.  I also had a white dresser.  One wall had built in white shelving under the windows.  The shelves held pet cages (hamster and guinea pigs, parakeets), stereo, television, craft supplies and books.  My room did tend to be on the messy side.  I considered it my sanctuary.  Just about everything I loved and loved to do was in that room.  I liked to keep one corner filled with pillows and an slumber bag that I used as a reading corner.  Saturday mornings we were up early to clean our rooms,

The last few weeks have been tough.  One of my daughter's was in a car wreck, hit by a red light runner with out a license.  Another one of my other daughters is having serious health issues.  The Social Security Administration returned my request for my Grandfather William Skibbe's SS-5, they say there is no proof that he has passed (he died in 1961) and I just sent in a copy of his death certificate.  The good news is my syllabus for the class Barbara and I are teaching is done. The garden is growing and tomatoes should be ready in a week or so.  I am working on getting my research list in order for my trip in June to Indiana and Illinois.  My to do list seems to be getting bigger and bigger.  My quick trip back home will include a wedding, the Clark family reunion and meeting new cousins found because of this blog, Facebook, and Ancestry.  It is indeed exciting!
